Pain in the ass

Going through the approval is such a pain in the ass, i am all prepared to give up on all these research and MIGRATE. Ya… totally.
I know they are doing their job…
But how annoying is it when people keep thinking that you are going to be abusing your participants?
Hello- my participants are FAMILY.
I don’t abuse family.
… but of course they don’t know that.
[I don't abuse non-family either! XYZ@!]
I got it tattooed across my forehead in invisible ink, decipherable only by the board, that i am an abusive, unprofessional, irresponsible bitch.
Wait… in case you think i am kicking up a fuss about nothing, i am not.
The last project, which is 100000000000 times more “dangerous” because i get to SEE individual participants and link not just their responses, but their accent, body smell, hair color, eye color… and a friggin’ gazillion and one identifying information, the approval process was a fraction of this hassle.
My already short fuse has yet shrank another 1mm shorter…
…which means there’s like 0.0001mm left of it.
IRB can be quite fussy and ridiculous at times I guess.
As to whether I am Lisi’s friend: I wish I am, but I don’t think we know each other.
I think it started off with me reading Pleinelune’s blog post about TLA’s speech on S377A. So I started reading her blog.
And then she posted on the encounter you had with your girlfriend at church. That was how I got linked over.
=)
I didn’t believe them when they told me about the department’s prof puking blood and cursing over it 3 years back. Now i am a total believer. Plus, the correspondent works on WEEKENDS. *More swearing*
Sorry, i mixed you up with another girl called Yiwei. My mistake. =|
